This allows us to offer a range of Supplemental Insurance, Drug Plans, and Advantage Plans. With our expertise, we’ll help you understand the rules, avoid penalties, and prevent any unexpected fees, ensuring you get the best coverage possible.

What Are Medicare Supplement Plans?

(a.k.a Medigap)

Medigap, also known as Medicare Supplement Insurance, is designed to cover the gaps left by Original Medicare and is offered by private insurance companies. While Medicare covers a significant portion of healthcare expenses, it doesn’t pay for everything. A Medigap policy helps with out-of-pocket costs such as co-insurance, co-pays, and deductibles.

One of the biggest advantages of Medigap coverage is its flexibility—you can receive care from any provider in the U.S. who accepts Original Medicare. Additionally, many plans include foreign travel emergency coverage, providing extra peace of mind when traveling abroad.

What Are Medicare Advantage Plans?

(a.k.a Part C)

Medicare Advantage Plans provide an alternative way to receive your Medicare Part A and Part B benefits. Also known as Part C or MA Plans, these policies are offered by Medicare-approved private companies that follow federal regulations. Most Medicare Advantage Plans also include prescription drug coverage (Part D), offering a more comprehensive package for your healthcare needs.

These plans generally require you to use network-approved healthcare providers to receive full benefits. They also set an annual out-of-pocket limit on covered services, helping to protect you from unexpected medical expenses. While some plans allow for out-of-network care, this typically comes at a higher cost.

To access your Medicare-covered services, you must use your Medicare Advantage Plan card. Be sure to keep your red, white, and blue Medicare card in a safe place in case you ever decide to switch back to Original Medicare.

What is Medicare Part D?

(a.k.a stand alone Prescription Drug Coverage)

Medicare drug coverage helps lower the cost of prescription medications you may need. Even if you don’t take medications now, enrolling in a Medicare-approved drug plan can protect you from higher costs in the future.

Medicare drug coverage is optional and available to all Medicare beneficiaries. However, if you choose not to enroll when you’re first eligible—and you don’t have other creditable coverage (such as an employer or union plan) or qualify for Extra Help—you may face a late enrollment penalty. This penalty typically applies for as long as you have Medicare drug coverage.

To get Medicare Part D, you must join a plan offered by a private insurance company that follows Medicare guidelines. Each plan may vary in costs, covered medications, and pharmacy networks, so it’s important to choose one that meets your specific needs.
